Japan’s largest gold retailer, Tanaka Co., Ltd. (7619.JP), has announced a suspension of sales of gold bullion ranging from 5 grams to 50 grams and platinum bullion from 5 grams to 10 grams due to supply shortages, Bloomberg reported.<\/p>\n
The company expects to resume supplies by the end of next month, while continuing to sell gold and platinum bullion weighing over 100 grams.<\/p>\n
The company stated that it is strengthening its production system with the aim of quickly restoring stable supply to customers. It has also temporarily suspended its recycling program at designated branches and is hiring additional staff. <\/p>\n
